Young Performers, Professional Partners

As Opera Carolina’s instructional arm, the Academy offers local middle school, high school and college students the training needed for all aspects of becoming a professional singing actor. These dynamic, age-appropriate opportunities are a must-do for students who are interested in pursuing this comprehensive art form in the professional world.

The Opera’s annual summer workshop is open to regional rising 8th to 12th graders. It provides musical and dramatic training, as well as various other stagecraft skills and aspects of the singing profession, and participation in a production alongside young professionals.

Rising 3rd to 7th grade singers develop foundational music and vocal skills that culminate on the grand opera or concert stage each semester, all while being an active and valued member of the Opera Carolina musical family.

Provided for students age 14 and older, the OCA connects regional singing students with highly qualified voice instructors to begin their own unique journey of vocal development.
