Performances in the Community

You can spot Opera Carolina well beyond the thriving city center as we bring our programming outside the Belk to local breweries, churches and out-of-the-box venues around the city. We may be coming soon to an unlikely location near you!

  • Driveway Pop Ups – Fun, fresh performances of opera and musical hits in neighbor’s front yards and driveways
  • Family Operas – Free weekend performances of fun children’s stories told through music and drama – brought right to your community!
  • 7th Street Station – Saturday afternoons get even happier with serenades by our resident artists
  • St. Nektarios Holiday Concert – A beautiful closing to Thanksgiving weekend and a joyous kick off to the holiday season
  • Christmas in Davidson – A yearly tradition, our OC carolers sing at this fun festival in Davidson
  • Kendra Scott Caroling – Holiday shopping and holiday music that gives back to Opera Carolina

Voices Engaged

Providing shared musical experiences that catalyze conversation on critical social topics

Voices Engaged dialogues use the art form of opera to provide reflection and dialogue on critical issues and challenges in our community.

  • Hour-long dialogues are structured around a vocal music experience (recorded or live) to stimulate reflection and dialogue, and to encourage continued conversation and personal action.
  • We seek to engage a broad cross-section of the community and create opportunity for developing connections and enhancing community wellness.
