Family Opera

This series is made possible by the generous support of Charlotte Eye, Ear, Nose, and Throat Associates

Education takes form in many ways, including outside the classroom and as a family. That’s why Opera Carolina is committed to its Family Opera series -weekend performances by Opera Xpress- that are free and open to families all across the Charlotte region. These beloved children’s stories set to music are a perfect first experience with opera for the young and the young at heart. Join us for the Family Opera performance coming to your neighborhood!

2023/24 Family Operas feature our fun production of Los Coyotes y Las Conejas (The Coyotes and the Rabbits)

Musical Storytime

Early childhood literacy brought to life through music

Literacy is key to successful learning and living, and it’s never too early to start sharing a good book with children.  Opera Carolina, in partnership with our regional libraries, is helping bring literacy to life through song by infusing storybook readings with song.  Join us at your local library’s storytime hour to experience a classic story in a new musical way!  The first 20 families at each site also receive a book to add to their own home library.
