Family Opera: Concord
Join us in Downtown Concord for an afternoon of family fun! Presented in partnership with the Cabarrus Arts Council, our season feature Los Coyotes y Las Conejas (The Coyotes & the Rabbits) will be performed as part of Family Day.
Join us for performances at 1pm or 3pm and be sure to explore the galleries and creation stations before or after!
About the story, composed and written by Héctor Armienta:
Meet Scrawny, a young coyote on an adventure learning to read – something no decent coyote would do – and his cousin, Loco, aiming to set him on the right path. Guiding us through their misadventures are the mischievous rabbits Chiquita and Banana, having their own fun with Loco and his lack of learning.
This 35-minute bilingual opera is based on a Mexican folktale, underscoring the importance of education to a life filled with adventures in knowledge.
Family Day and Family Opera performances are FREE, but RSVPs are appreciated.
