Dan Boye has been widely featured as an operatic and musical theater performer and as an oratorio soloist. He has performed principal roles in over 25 Opera Carolina productions. Recent roles include Cavaradossi in Tosca, Baron Duphol in La Traviata, Zuniga in Carmen, Timur in Turandot and Dr. Falke in Die Fledermaus. For a dozen years he was a Guest Artist with the Breckenridge Music Festival. Orchestral appearances include the Charlotte, Hendersonville, Canton, Fayetteville, Asheville, and North Carolina Symphonies in a variety of capacities. A graduate of Emory and Henry College and the University of Georgia, he is currently Professor of Physics at Davidson College. He teaches a wide range of physics courses including courses for non-science majors entitled “Musical Technology” and “Sights and Sounds.” He has provided educational opportunities for thousands of public school students and adults of all ages, musical and scientific backgrounds through programs, workshops and lectures. He also maintains an active research program in 3D volumetric x-ray imaging and in the development of new optical materials.

Mr. Boye will also be singing the role of Noah in Opera Carolina’s collaborative production with The Choir School at St. Peters Episcopal Church of Noye’s Fludde in late October.
