Giuseppe Valentino Buzza born, in Catania, where in 2008 he graduated from the Vincenzo Bellini Conservatory. Over subsequent years, he participated in masterclass courses run by Leone Magiera, Edda Moser and Renato Bruson, among others. He has won prizes in many competitions, including an invitation to take part in a production of Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore at the Teatro Politeama Greco in Lecce (Italy), where he sang the part of Nemorino. In 2012, he participated in artistic projects at the Centro di Perfezionamento Plácido Domingo in Valencia, having sung the role of Rodolfo in La bohème under the direction of Riccardo Chailly. He has performed at such venues as the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía in Valencia, as Ferrando in Così fan tutte (cond. Marco Guidarini) and as Aristeo in Scarlatti’s opera Narcisoand in Handel’s Israel in Egypt (cond. Fabio Biondi), and the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa (Nemorino), and also at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino (Aeneas in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas). In 2016, as a laureate of the Luciano Pavarotti Prize in the Marcello Giordani Competition, he performed in a concert of art song in Brazil. That same year, he also took part in the international programme Jeunes Ambassadeurs Lyriques in Canada. His recordings include Turandot (cond. Zubin Mehta) and Manon Lescaut (cond. Plácido Domingo. In july 2017 he has performed Nemorino in L’ Elisir d’amore at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and in august of the same year he will record for Glossa Macbeth as Macduff with Europa Galante under baton of Maestro Fabio Biondi.
